Commitment Issues:
Strengthen relationship connection
Why can't I commit?
I am often asked questions such as 'Why can't I commit again?' This refers to someone who cannot enter into an intimate relationship or not being able to plan towards a long term future. A lack of commitment undermines the relationship’s foundation. When absent, relationships either stay superficial with little joy and depth for either party or become unstable and may eventually dissolve. may feel insecure about the future of the relationship, leading to reluctance in making long-term plans or investments together. This uncertainty often happens around the 18-month mark. However, often neither feel comfortable bringing up the issues of their long-term compatibility and commitment. perhaps not wanting to rock the boat or maybe they are scared to commit second time around as their first divorce was so painful. This hesitancy can create an environment of uncertainty and mistrust and can significantly impact the relationship’s future. The focus now must shift towards how to strengthen commitment, of the relationship is to move forward

How to strengthen relationship connection
Addressing and healing from commitment issues requires effort, focus and self awareness. Here are some strategies that I use to facilitate this process:
1. Common Signs pf Commitment Issues: Identify the signs of commitment issues
2. Establish Boundaries & Values: Set and respect personal boundaries to create a sense of safety and mutual respect within the relationship. Analyse values and relationship vision.
3. Reshaping the mind: CBT techniques means reshaping thoughts, emotions and actions - our unhelpful patterns.
4. Calming our emotions: Using IFS, hypnojourneying and A&CT tools we understand how to understand our emotions and not attach to the narrative,
5. Build Self-Esteem and resilience: Develop personal growth and self-confidence, which can reduce fear of rejection and so strengthen connection.
6. Walking the resilient path: learn how to find resilience within and in every moment.

All these tools and techniques help us build a relationship that strengthens connection and so has deeper foundations that can sustain challenges and daily life stressors.
