Conflict Resolution Plan
Being proactive not reactive
CBT helps you shift from emotional reactivity to strategic thinking. If you have a difficult issue that requires negotiation, developing a Conflict Resolution Plan ensures you stay calm, clear, and in control.
Before entering any conflict situation, ask yourself:
✔ What is the real issue here?
It’s easy to get sidetracked by past resentment or irrelevant details. Stay focused on the core issue to avoid escalating the conflict.
✔ What is the minimum outcome I need?
Being realistic about your needs allows you to set clear, non-negotiable boundaries.
✔ What am I willing to compromise on?
Conflict resolution is about negotiation, not “winning.” Knowing what you can flex on prevents deadlock.?
✔ What is the worst outcome - and how can I make that work?
Being prepared for all possibilities reduces anxiety and helps you maintain composure, no matter the result.?
