The Sea of Serenity is a short 10-minute audio that is designed to help you relax deeply and embrace uncertainty even when you are in the middle of a storm.

The Sea of Serenity: Embracing uncertainty


Induction & Deepening

Allow your body to relax as you settle into a comfortable position. Feel your feet firmly on the floor. Let your body and mind relax. Just listen to the sound of my voice and let me guide you on a journey. Take a slow, deep breath in… and hold it. Then breathe out. Let all your tension and worries slip away… Good. Take another breath hold it - and then let it go.  Each breath takes you deeper and deeper into relaxation… Each breath out releases all doubt…. tension… any tightness…. Now, take a final deep breath in. Hold it. Hold it. As you let it go, imagine a gentle, shimmering wave of relaxation flowing from the top of your head down to your toes, like a warm, healing light.

Good.

Perhaps you would like to imagine that you are walking slowly along a sandy path towards a sparking, blue sea. You can feel the sun touch your cheek on this warm summer's day. Watch the wind dance in the sea grasses and play with poppies along the way. Can you smell the sea salt? You have now reached the steps down to the sea. It looks so inviting

As I count down from 5 to 1, with each step you will feel your body become heavier and heavier. More and more more relaxed as you leave all stress and worry behind.

Step 5… You feel so relaxed as you sink down onto the sandy step… 

4… So so relaxed as you feel pulled down on the stop towards the sea. 

3… Down deeper. Down. … as you sink deeper you feel heavy.

2… Your arms and legs feel so relaxed now… so very heavy…. 

1… Almost there… So sleepy. the ocean pulls you deeper and deeper into sleep.

0… . So deeply relaxed. Sleepy. So sleepy Zero. And zero. Sleep now

Nothing to hold on to… nothing to carry… just peace… stillness… 

Good. 

You have reached the Sea of Serenity. You are now by the water. You feel so peaceful a you look into the distance - azure blue sea and sky meet. The sea looks endless. Gentle, calm. Your breath matches the slow rhythm of the waves

A small wave rolls towards you, touch your toes… cool and refreshing. So healing.

 

You step into the clear shallows. Waves ripple over your feet. Clean and fresh. Cleansing. The ocean wants to draw out all your tension. All negativity. Everything that doesn't serve you. Each healing wave makes you  lighter and clearer. You step deeper. Another wave splashes over your knees - then gently pulls away. You feel more tension slip away. Slip away. Slip away. Cleansing your body and your mind. Another step in. Water surrounds you. Notice how relaxed you feel and double it.

Perhaps you say, 'Let everything go' as your body relaxes even deeper into the Sea or Serenity. You let all the emotional pain go. All fear and pain go - into the water. Melting into the sea. Washing away the weight of the past… It is just past. Let it go. Let it go. Let the sea carry it far, far away.  Can you feel how good that feels? How light you feel? 

Empowerment: Embracing Acceptance

The Sea of Serenity is holding you effortlessly, weightlessly. Feel yourself floating…? Light as a feather. Look at the clouds - so free - they don't worry. They don't feel tension. Just let this timeless sea carry you along, as it always will… Rocking you gently… Keeping you safe. Feel the deep stillness.... Go deeper.... You are always safe here. The Sea of Serenity always keeps you safe.

There is no need to worry. Storms will come. Waves may heave and fall. Battles and conflict may come but they all pass. Even relationships may come and go. It is the flow of life. It will all passes. Just the ebb and flow of life.  Nothing is ever certain. You realise conflicts don't matters here. You have so much peace and calmness here. Right now. In the Sea of Serenity. You have all the certainty you need here. Right now. Your confidence grows: 

You say to yourself:

 'Thoughts come and go'

 ‘Feelings come and go'

 ‘There is no need for certainty. Everything will pass’ 

 

I will be kept safe

You can feel the water gently tug you to and fro. It ebbs and flows.. Here you know there will always be calm. You will always be kept safe. 

With even more confidence you say:

 'Thoughts come and go'

 ‘Feelings come and go'​​

'Storms and battles come and go'

 ‘Everything will pass

 

 I am calm

I am safe

 

You sink deeper and deeper into this knowing. Into this feelings of confidence, safety and certainty. Even deeper. Even more relaxed. Even more confident. With this you relax even deeper.... Even more peaceful into sleep... Feel this certainty peace now. [LONG PAUSE].

 

Every time that you feel unsure you can journey back to this peaceful place - the Sea of Serenity. Here you can find safety. Find Peace. Knowing this makes you feel even safer. Even more relaxed.

Emerging from Hypnosis

In a moment you will return with me from the Sea of Serenity. You will come back with a wonderful sense of calmness, confidence and certainty

 

As I slowly, count up from 1 to 5, you will journey back with me:

1… Feeling so relaxed and peaceful

2… Becoming more aware of your surroundings.

3… Coming back from the deep calm of the sea. Bringing back peace and trust

4… You feel refreshed, as the walls of the room start to come into focus. 

5… Now fully awake, fully present. You feel safe, peaceful and balanced.

When you're ready, open your eyes. And stretch. You are home.

Closing Message

Remember that the Sea of Serenity remains deep within you - and is always available to you. Inside you there is only peace.
