Shadow Work
Resolving Inner Conflict and Fear
Are you struggling with overwhelm, can't make a decision or stuck in trauma? You could be dealing with an internal conflict - your inner critic, the victim, or the doubter? These voices are distinct parts of you - that take control in different situations - they can sabotage and leave you feeling helpless and broken.
These part of us can create complex security systems and sub-personality networks to keep themselves safe - which can stop you from healing.
What Is Shadow Work?
Shadow work is a therapeutic practice focused on exploring the repressed or disowned parts of ourselves, such as negative emotions, past traumas, or limiting beliefs. This side can be very obvious to others, we rarely try to see ourself as we really are as we are caught up in behavioural patterns, values, beliefs and internal mind loops. We don't do this as it is too painful, trying to see ourselves . We may may be caught in trauma, and to explore that is too painful to explore. It can also take a lot of sustained effort - so it is too easy to forget and go back to old habits - su we focus our attention on our partner's flaws instead.

Bringing these hidden parts into conscious awareness to better understand and integrate them, ultimately leading to greater self-awareness, personal growth, and improved relationship
What Does Shadow Work Heal?
Shadow work is a very powerful and direct tool - and is useful when CBT therapy is not working or you are stuck unhelpful patterns or trauma. It is particularly powerful for supporting:
-
Trauma – processing held memories and emotions without retraumatisation
-
Self-Sabotage – understanding and disarming the inner parts that block growth
-
Addictive Patterns – uncovering the unmet needs beneath cravings and compulsions
-
Emotional Flooding – learning to ride the emotional waves without drowning
-
Panic & Fear – soothing the nervous system and meeting the inner protector with compassion
-
Depression & Numbness – gently reconnecting to the parts of you that shut down to survive
My Shadow Work Approach
-
Guided Journeying
These are not ordinary visualisations. They are immersive inner experiences where you meet and dialogue with the forgotten parts of yourself. You character is a guide that holds a key to healing.
-
Therapeutic Parables & Storytelling
Parables bypass the rational mind and speak directly to the soul. Whether it’s The Fox Who Forget To Be Fearful or The Alchemy Goose, these stories awaken unconscious insights and offer symbolic guidance without pressure or resistance.
-
Parts Therapy
Inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Therapy, and Gestalt, we invite the inner cast of your psyche to speak — not to fix or silence them, but to understand their role, unmet needs, and hidden strengths.
-
Somatic Awareness, Acceptance & Breathwork
The body often holds what the mind cannot speak. We use breath, gentle movement, and embodied metaphors (like shaking off stuck energy, tuning into felt textures, or releasing the ‘armour’) to support integration and release.
-
Mindfulness & Non-Dual Contemplation
Beyond the story lies the awareness that holds it. When the ego is ready, we move toward recognising that these parts — as real as they feel — are not the whole of who you are. Healing becomes less about fixing, and more about remembering.

What Is Journeying?
Journeying is a central part of my shadow work approach — a powerful and transformative way of meeting the parts of yourself you’ve avoided, abandoned, or misunderstood. It's a deep dive into your inner worlds. This isn’t about past lives or forced memory recovery. It’s about exploring and listening to what these parts are saying.
You may meet the Critic, the Queen, or the Worthless One. Perhaps you travel as a sly fox. You take the role as as observer — to understand the hidden pain - and give this part the confidence to release the fear and confusion they carry. Once the voice is understood it doesn't need to be so demanding and controlling.

Each journey is perfect in its own right with profound lesson to be integrated. Perhaps, like a dream — not everything needs to be analysed or understood. With compassion you can now understand. You take away the gifts and everything else dissolves away.
