What is relationship anxiety?
Relationship anxiety is not a word many know, yet it's something we all struggle with at some point or other. Relationships cause considerable conflict, anxiety and trauma. It doesn't discriminate between gender, culture, age or disability. Yet conflict is normalised in our society and divorce common place - we expect this relationships to be a war zone. We ignore triggers such as insomnia, over eating or another addiction, confusion and overwhelm, loneliness, being sick, depression or migraines. It can make us so ill that we can't go to work or get out of bed.
Do you recognise any of these common signs?
Love - the addiction we can't escape
In today’s quick-fix society, relationships are often treated like disposable commodities. With dating apps offering endless possibilities, it’s easy to jump from one connection to the next, blaming our unhappiness on the partner and ignoring the part we played. The mindset of “it’s my way or the highway” has become all too common, leaving many relationships abandoned without real effort to repair them.
But here’s the truth: when we move on to a new relationship, the same issues often follow us. Research shows that unresolved challenges—be it communication breakdowns, trust issues, or emotional baggage—resurface time and again, no matter who we’re with. Changing partners without addressing the root of our struggles can create a cycle of dissatisfaction and missed opportunities for growth.
Understanding the addictive nature of love is key to breaking free from this cycle. Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s a biological drive for connection, comfort, and survival. The rush of falling in love can cloud our judgment, pushing us to seek the highs while avoiding the hard work of maintaining a relationship. But real fulfillment comes from addressing the deeper issues, building resilience, and fostering meaningful connections that last.
The MindFull Practice helps you break free from this pattern by offering a swift, effective approach to understanding your role in relationships, healing underlying challenges, and rebuilding stronger, healthier connections. With the right tools, you can transform your relationship dynamics and rediscover the joy of lasting love.
'Love's Closing the Door'
"I stand on the edge, unsure of my ground,
Wondering if you’ll catch me else I'll spiral down.
The past it still haunts... shadows fatally near,
I reach for your hand, then recoil out of fear.
Yours eyes reflect safety, but my heart's so unsure
I can't hazard this leap, love's now closing the door."

The power of hypnosis and potency of theta brain waves
Embedded in my therapy approach is the science of hypnosis and power of theta brain waves. Research in neuroscience has identified that the brain operates in different wave patterns: high frequency beta wave state - associated with busy, active thinking but also overanalysing, racing thoughts, hypervigilence and agitation, whilst and low frequency theta wave state - associated with ight sleep, daydreaming and meditation. The theta wave state also correlates associated with a natural state of deep relaxation, creativity memory consolidation and heightened suggestibility.
Studies using EEG (electroencephalogram) show that during hypnosis, brain activity shifts from the busy beta waves to slower, calmer theta waves, enabling powerful introspection and behavioral change. In this state, the conscious mind quiets, making it an ideal environment for hypnosis to work as we are malleable, open, receptive and detached - keen to harness our imagination, our creativity and heightened intuition. Here we are better able to talk to and integrate our emotions. This is why hypnosis is so effective for reducing anxiety, changing habits and enabling swift personal transformation.
